FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

100% of your donation will go to the projects that we support. We take no slice of the cake for any administrative costs, as all of our administrative costs are covered by private donations. Not only that, but through Gift Aid, for every £1 donated by UK taxpayers, the UK Government will contribute an extra 25p.

We do not restrict how our project partners spend this money, as this allows it to go directly to their greatest need. We have a clear system of reporting back, so you will know exactly where this money has gone and how it has made a difference.

If you’re interested in making a private donation towards the running of the charity, email hello@justact.me.

ARE YOU A CHRISTIAN CHARITY?

Each trustee is a committed Christian. We are motivated by belief in a God who is rich in love (Psalm 145:8) and who requires our actions to be loving, just and merciful (Micah 6:8). And we follow the example set by Jesus, who showed extraordinary, unconditional compassion for the excluded and vulnerable.

However, we make a distinction between what we do as a charity, and what motivates us to do this. We seek to promote social inclusion for all, irrespective of faith.

HOW MANY PEOPLE WORK FOR YOU?

There are no paid staff at JustAct Middle East. We are five trustees who together make all decisions and carry out all the day-to-day work that keeps the charity moving forward. Any visits made to our project partners are funded solely from trustees' own money. We enjoy our visits too much, it would feel wrong for anyone else to pay for it!

If you have skills that you think could help us, we would love to hear from you! Please visit the 'Contact Us' page.

WHAT IS YOUR PERSPECTIVE ON THE ISRAELI-PALESTINIAN CONFLICT?

Wherever it occurs, conflict disproportionately affects vulnerable people. The ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict poses major obstacles to the socially excluded in the occupied Palestinian territories, whether those made vulnerable by disability, mental illness, poverty or any other factor.  JustAct Middle East is committed to, and prioritises, meeting the needs of those people.

We recognise that responsibility for this conflict lies with all those involved: Israelis, Palestinians and the international community. We believe that all of these parties need to communicate, co-operate and be prepared to make concessions, in order to achieve peace.

The needs of the socially-excluded cannot be met whilst this conflict persists. In the meantime, we will work to meet all needs that we reasonably can through partnering with organisations and projects whose work meets our charitable aims, and whose work promotes peace.
